Math Dvd

how to get better at math?
i am terrible at math, and i am really interested in a science major/career, but ive heard that you need strong math skills to be competent in the fields im interested in(biology, genetics, astronomy, physics, chemistry, psychology) my biggest problem is that i panic when i see a big/long problem. im currently a sophomore in high school(geometry) and i really need some ideas of how to get better at math, preferably without buying some damn stupid dvd.
I’m sure you study hard, but you probably need more work at studying smarter. There many tricks that you can find to help you with math, but what it really comes down to is understanding the tools that you have (such as arithmetic, algebra, etc.) and how to use them.
For big/long problems, it’s a good idea to either draw a picture or to sketch out a game plan. Figure out what information you need to know, then what information you already have, and then figure out how to get from start to finish. You may need several steps to get intermediate pieces of information, but having a game plan will help you figure out what you need or don’t need in a problem.
