How can i learn how to make clothes?
I want to be a fashion designer and i need to learn how to make my clothes. What supplies do i need and is there anywhere i cna learn how? I live in Connecticut, near Danbury. Close to New York City. I have to go to school on weekdays. Any suggestions? Any good sewing machines or mannequins?
First find a class. The supplies needed will be given to you. The class my require that you know how to properly use a sewing machine.
I would not purchase a mannequin unless it is on the list.
Most sewing machine dealers have classes. You might start there as you need to purchase an intermediate sewing machine. Tell them your plans and they will help you choose a machine that will fit your needs – has the basics, but not too heavy to take to and from classes.

Be sure to follow the instructions for measuring the body and choosing the right pattern size. Also, be sure to watch the sewing buddies videos (left side bar).
After you have mastered simple clothing projects, then you will have a foundation for size and ease of fit.
